Community Campus

Community Campus is a virtual campus that embraces different sectors of Northumbria University and Voluntary/Third Sector/Community Linked Organisations. It is a place where information about research, evaluation, continuing professional development and open seminars/events/lectures can be found and exchanged.

Community Campus at Northumbria University seeks to:

  • Build Sustainable Partnerships
  • Stimulate new knowledge based activities
  • Enhance Knowledge Exchange and Community Practice.

 

Current areas of focus are:

Participatory approaches to Research and Evaluation its purpose, application and impact.
Learning strengthening the exchange of knowledge between communities and universities, students and the workplace.
Collaboration building accessible, practical and inclusive structures that work towards building a strategic vision
Development bringing together information, provision, training and applied research in practical outcomes

If you register (there is no payment for this) you can

  • send and receive information about activities related to university/community based partnerships.
  • set up a site for your organisation - you will be the manager for this site
  • join or starting a focus group: these are places for discussion that only registered members can access.

Peanut are participation experts based in Northumbria University  Applied Sciences who provide training courses and research. Our ‘Participatory Approach’ is an easy to use, straightforward, fun set of methods and activities that help people to participate in decision making by learning from each other, moving from problems towards solutions, prioritising solutions, planning and taking action. We run a regular programme of courses at Northumbria University as well as delivering tailor-made courses.
